"The lunar festival, a moment of celebration for everyone in Pandaria... Well, not everyone. In Qianfan's house, no laughter, no joy, no delicious food... Only sorrow, the thick smoke of cigars in the air and empty bottles of wine...
The big bear cannot even have the sliver thought of celebration, only the sadness of losing his loved one, gone without warning, crossing the Veil. He knows his dearest Kenai is waiting for him, with his Ancestors, always watching. But nothing can help soothes his mind, nothing can make his lips draw a beginning of a smile.
He who had finally found the One completing him, harshly taken away without even the chance of fighting back for their future. He would have followed him in the afterlife if it was not for his children. Morbid thoughts swim in his mind but kept away by the promise of being there for his son Nobu and his daughter Zi.
He has been invited to celebrate the New Moon with his friends, to forget a couple of hours his grief but how could he? The pain is too much, crushing his heart with tremendous power.
At midnight, while fireworks started poping and illuminating the sky, Qianfan broke. Tears pouring out of his grey eyes, soaking his fur and driping on a family picture. A happy memory of a time not so far and yet out of reach. And while laughters echoed outside, gloomy cries lingered inside..."
Qianfan has been my roleplay character in WoW for a bit more than two years and ended up being the husband of Koda77 's character Kenai (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49863908/). Our roleplay became the cement of a genuine, deep but too short friendship. I miss him so much...
