This piece is significant for me in many ways. It depicts my current self giving comfort to my younger self at the cusp of adulthood, confused and scared by their internal feelings. It is...deeply emotional for me, based on a dream that I woke up from with tears already on my face. Being trans has always been a struggle for me, and it took a long time to accept myself and even longer to take the leap and start my transition. But nearly 3 years after doing so, I can say that I do not regret it one bit, and I will live on being my truest self not just for myself, but for my younger self and those who are currently afraid to openly be themselves.
