WOTF Context (from previous chapters):
- Fluff is a world full of anthropomorphic animals called the Fluffies.
- Fluff Tech is the primary contributing technological/innovative company for anthro-based wearables or gadgets.
Between being suited in a wolf fursuit with technology woven into the fabric and being stranded in an anthro filled world, I was not sure what I was doing and felt a little lost. As a human in an anthro’s disguise, I felt misplaced in the World of the Fluffy. Despite the passing moment of existential crisis, Spots would give me a reassuring smile to keep my worries at bay. The anthro cheetah did not mind having a human like me in her company, although I was an awkward individual when interacting with females back in my old life.
Upon entering Spots’ home, I was shocked to see how many computer monitors she had. But as the director of a company innovating technology for anthropomorphic animals, this was a reasonable amount of devices for her. While I was distracted with what was displayed on the screens, she came back to me with a set of clothing - a hooded gray sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. I stared at the jeans, raising an eyebrow at the cheetah, questioning, “How do I wear this? I’ve never dealt with putting on pants with a tail before…”
Spots unfolded the jeans and flipped it to the back, showing me a small tail hole with a mechanism to secure the clothing around the waist. “There’s a metallic snap closure at the back of the jeans here. Just unsnap it, slip your tail through and snap. It’s as easy as that! Unless you want the old-school pants with a stretchy tail hole that’s far more troublesome for your tail, this is the best kind of modern anthro-grade clothing I can provide.” Retrieving the jeans from her paws, I thanked her, “Thank you, Spots. Give me a second and I’ll be done.” After putting on the hooded sweatshirt, I looked at the wolf fursuit’s paw shoes and hit another wall in understanding anthro clothing. “Do I need shoes?”
“The Fluff Tech fursuit should suffice with its built-in footpaws, adjusting to your human feet size and shape with its memory foam interior,” she clarified before typing rapidly on her keyboard, occupied with important matters at hand, or in Fluff, at paw. “Please give me a moment to handle your quantum displacement case and we shall head out again.” I nodded in response, staring at the screens in front of her. On one of the monitors above, it showed some notifications for messages on the updates on the issue, all of them mentioning the reparation of the Fluff Interdimensional Machine. Seeing her reply that everything could be fixed in a couple of days, even sending me back to my old life, which I would admit was slightly reluctant to return to.
With an energetic leap away from the computer, the anthro cheetah was ready to set off with me onto the streets. On the outside of her apartment, I was conscious about my looks and raised the sweatshirt’s hood over my head. I then felt a pat on my shoulder, followed by a wide grin from Spots, “There’s no need to be nervous. You’re one of us now until I eventually send you home. If the disguise works to hide your human features, I’m sure it’ll help you fit in.” In one playful tug, she pulled my hood back to expose my wolf fursuit’s face again. “There! That’s better!”
We took a leisurely stroll through the street, and now, other anthros did not seem to mind my looks now compared to before with the clothes on my fursuit covered body. In a few minutes, Spots’ eyes lit up, pointing her paw at an ice cream truck in the distance. “Let’s get some ice-cream! I’m sure you’ll love the flavors Fluff has got to offer!” While I perused the menu, the cheetah recommended two flavors: the “Fluffberry Swirl” and “Boops N Scoops.” I chose to have the Boops N Scoops flavor and was not disappointed to be presented with a cone of minty ice-cream speckled with colorful, fruity, paw-shaped marshmallows.
“Spots, how am I supposed to eat this with my fursuit head on? I don’t want to show my face,” I stated, not wanting to “break the magic” from being in a fursuit disguise.
“There’s a setting for that in your Fluff Tech fursuit. Hang on a sec. Lemme do… This!” She said, pressing the temples of the wolf fursuit head, the snout retreating via nanobots to expose only my face.
“Won’t the other Fluffies see my face?”
“Don’t worry. While your face may be exposed, there’s a hologram to cloak your looks behind a similar wolf-like façade called the Fluff-cade. Just eat at ease with me and after that, you can switch it back to the normal wolf mask.”
With my mind fully relaxed to indulge in the cold snack, I started licking it and enjoyed the minty flavors, occasionally chewing on the fruity-tasting marshmallows. Spots put a fluffy arm around my shoulders as she enjoyed her personal cone of Fluffberry Swirl, cherishing the time we have together pointing at clouds on a bench. Some clouds resembled animals that I knew back on Earth, but unfamiliar to Spots, even in an anthro world.
“So, are there no scalies or scaled anthros on Fluff?” She shook her head, prompting an explanation about what they are. By the time we finished our cones, I had finished sharing a whole new side of the anthropomorphic deal to her. The tail of my fursuit wagged vigorously throughout my lecture on scalies, showing how happy I was with her. She giggled at the sight, remarking on my silliness before we got on our way again. But, the scaly side of Fluff was never revealed, remaining a mystery for me as she tried to avoid mentioning anything about it.
And so, we sauntered further and reached the Fluff Tech building, the place for all things anthro. When she escorted me through the corridor and into a side annex, she introduced me to her team of fluffy scientists. They were all fascinated by me wearing one of their fursuit prototypes, asking me if I was comfortable. My tail revealed it all and I returned a smile to them, appreciating the technology they have provided to let me fit in. They began poking at my arms and side, checking every setting on my Fluff Tech wolf fursuit, obliviously knowing that I was a human in disguise and not an actual anthro.
While I was treated as a test subject by the group of Fluffies, Spots went to work on the Fluff Interdimensional Machine, repairing it for my return trip home. I quickly noticed that when I had conversations with them, I could see their ears and tail express more emotion than what I would normally see on Earth. Both of us made progress. I was praised for being a brilliant human-test subject for their fursuit prototype, their success leading them to design more suits for stranded humans if any came by again after me. Spots, in the meantime, had expedited the efforts on the contraption, hoping that I did not need to stay too long in inconvenience.
The day went by quickly and we eventually got a quick dinner together with the other Fluff Tech scientists before heading back to Spot’s place. While she cleaned up in the main bathroom, I went to the other bathroom to freshen up myself. As I stepped out of the wolf fursuit to refresh myself, I inspected my body to discover that it was devoid of sweat or stickiness, self-cleaning as Spots has said previously. After a quick shower, I decided to get back into the wolf fursuit and wear it to sleep as my pajamas, a new experience I have never had back in my old, mundane life.
Stepping out from the bathroom, I scanned the rooms for places to sleep, eventually guided to the main bedroom of Spots’ home. However, my mouth was gaping in disbelief at what I was seeing before my eyes, my wagging fursuit tail gradually slowing to a standstill to exaggerate my shock. I was staring at an anthropomorphic cheetah, her dense fluff covering most of her delicately voluptuous contours. “Don’t mind me, human. I like to go au naturel when I’m home.”
I was blushing beneath the wolf head, the suit’s ears twitching a little as my tail resumed swaying. “W-Where would I be sleeping?” I stuttered in nervousness in front of the fluffy beauty. “You may sleep with me on my bed. You’re the first and most adorable human I’ve met and I’ve yet to experience sleeping with one.” l hesitated a little as she patted the bed with her paws, still not used to the appearance of a bare anthro, much less sleeping with one. “C’mon! I won’t bite! I promise!” She beckoned me to bed with a paw.
“Uhh… Okay?” I climbed onto the bed nervously and rested my body beside the cheetah, our faces meeting in an accidental nuzzle. While I was too shy to cuddle her, she wrapped her fuzzy arms around me and brought me close to her, pressing her body against mine. She was like a fluffy blanket on the bed and I soon found myself embracing her warmth and fell asleep.
When morning came, I found myself lying my head on her body like a pillow, and upon realization, I made a retreat and fell off the bed. The muffled thud was enough to cause Spots to stir, standing and looming over me with her head tilted to the side. “Yup! Still an adorable wolf-suited human! Here, lemme give you a paw,” she offered, pulling me back onto my paw covered feet. “I’ve got something special planned at Fluff Tech today, and you’re joining me!”
“What is it?”
“It’s a surprise! Let’s go!” She exclaimed in excitement, literally dragging me out of bed.
After racing through breakfast, she took me back to the familiarities of Fluff Tech. Spots mentioned that if Ashen does not come back, she would have to use the portal herself to rescue the anthro wolf, stranded on Earth in my place. She had planned a trip to Earth once the portal was fixed, wanting to get my help since I was a human and knew more about the human society. Furthermore, she treated me like her tech intern, training me from scratch to use all the Fluff Tech combat utilities. We were preparing ourselves for the worst-case scenario - a rescue mission. For me, it was going to be a dream come true, working with anthros for a shared cause.
