Trading Places | Lamb & Goat Bodyswap TF
Really sorry for the delay on stories lately. Things haven't been too good irl and I haven't had much motivation to write. I managed to get this out though, not very proud of it but I hope you like it!

The sky was the greyish-red of the afternoon, natural of the Deathly Pines that The Lamb called home. The dried-up, rain-starved grass crunched underneath their hooves as they walked, and the chilly wind lightly billowed their cloak.
“Hm…should be getting there soon…” They mused to themselves as they came to a river in a clearing.
“Ah, perfect.” They hummed, quickly trotting over to look at their reflection in the water. The Lamb had to make sure they looked their best for this next meeting.
Humming a hymn one of their followers wrote, The Lamb smoothed over their wool, patted down their cloak, brushed off any dust from their tunic and pants…and locked eyes with the singular, disapproving eye of their crown.
“I fail to understand the purpose of this all.” The Red Crown’s voice rang out in their head.
“Well, The Goat wouldn’t wish to exchange bodies if I looked like a street urchin, now would he?” The Lamb snarked, causing the crown to scoff.
“That is not what I meant, and you know it. What I fail to understand is the action itself. WHY would you do something so brazen such as this?” The crown questioned.
The Lamb sighed lightly. Both them and The Goat knew the dangers of doing such a thing…but yet both of them had a deep fascination with each other’s worlds and seeing what they looked like.
“We’ve both agreed to stay away from each other’s following during this whole thing. That way we minimize the risk of messing something up in either world.” The Lamb explained.
“And what if someone mor powerful runs into you and recognizes that all is not as it seems? What will you do then?” The Crown rebutted.
The Lamb sighed again. “I am shocked you did not suggest killing them right away…but I’m sure there’s a way things could be resolved. Violently or not.”
“I will laugh as the blood drains from your lifeless corpse.”
“Yes yes, I love you as well.”
Now that that whole conversation was done, The Lamb finished tidying themselves up and continued walking. After a few minutes of walking, The Lamb finally arrived at the place: a perfectly circular clearing in the woods, directly in the center of said woods. Here, at this very spot around a month ago…The Lamb had been introduced to their counterpart. It was a very odd meeting, supposedly The Goat had botched a teleportation spell and ended up being sent to The Lamb’s universe as a result.
Most details of that meeting were unimportant…but one thing that was important was the curiosity both of them shared with each other. At the end of their meeting, both of them deigned to explore one another’s universes.
And The Lamb had discovered a very seamless way to do so…they only hoped The Goat would follow through with his end of the ritual.
The Lamb took a deep breath and made their way to the middle of the circle. There they sat in a cross-legged position and slowly shut their eyes.
The Lamb focused their thoughts on the cosmos above…of the stars swirling and shining past them…of the magic of the universe flowing all around them in a beautiful, cold helix…
And then they opened their eyes…and they were ecstatic to see that it had worked.
The Lamb now found themselves in what appeared to be the night sky itself. Surrounding them in all three dimensions were stars….stars all around, distant constellations were mere feet away from their eyes. The Lamb felt like they could just reach a hand out and touch one if they wished.
But that could wait…for now it was the moment of truth. However, said moment would be extremely anticlimactic, as all it took was a simple turn of the head for The Lamb to be met with The Goat, who was still sitting down…and was snoring very loudly.
The Lamb sighed and stepped over, where they snapped their fingers in front of The Goat, who suddenly let out a bleat of shock and fell over. The Lamb just watched with an unamused expression.
“Ugh…The hell was that for?” Goat huffed, rubbing his head.
“You fell asleep.” The Lamb said simply.
“Uhhh no I didn’t…” Goat said as he got back to his hooves. “I just uh, breathe real heavy with my eyes closed.”
The Lamb rolled their eyes. “Right…anyways, it’s wonderful to see you again.”
“Yeah, you too.” The Goat’s eyes darted around rapidly as he gazed upon the scenery. “Damn, can’t believe that worked. I usually suck at curses and spells and shit.”
The Lamb eyed the other attentively as he spoke. While The Lamb had come looking their very best, The Goat had done the exact opposite and come in the bare minimum. He was dressed in only his cloak, his fur was scraggly and unkempt, and overall, he looked extremely raggedy, not like a cult leader at all.
“So where even are we right now?” The Goat asked as his attention finally returned to The Lamb.
“I’m not entirely sure, but I believe it’s some sort of plane between universes. It’s what the spell page said, at least.” The Lamb answered.
“Huh. Cool.” The Goat cleared his throat. “So uhh, what do we do now?”
The Lamb took a deep breath as they ran through the spell’s steps in their head.
“Alright…” They began. Afterwards, they held their arm out. “…Just take my wrist.”
“Uh, ‘kay then.” The Goat then did as instructed. Lamb then did the same.
“Alright, now close your eyes, and channel your powers into me, I’ll do the same to you.”
“Okay and how do I do that?”
“Just imagine something like a purple aura coming out of your hand, then imagine it flowing into my wrist.”
“Grrgh…magic is for nerds.”
The Lamb huffed but didn’t say anything more.
After a few moments, what The Lamb described began to happen. A red aura began to flow from The Lamb’s hand and into The Goat’s arm, and a purple aura flowed from The Goat and into The Lamb. The Goat watched this whole thing with a baffled expression. He may have technically used magic every day when he shapeshifted his crown…but more intensive shit like this always baffled him…nerdy crap.
Once the spell seemed to be done, The Goat separated and stepped back.
“Ugh…I feel all…fuzzy.” He remarked.
The Lamb stepped back as well, holding their head in one hand. “Mmgh…and my muscles ache.”
“Shit, did I do the spell wrong or something?” The Goat asked.
“No…no…ngh-! It’s natural, I read that these are the first signs of the changes occurring.”
Right after The Lamb finished talking, The Goat felt his fingers beginning to tingle. His eyes widened as he lifted his hands up in front of him, seeing as his keratin-covered fingers started to change hue slightly, lightening up into a more light grey.
“Woah, holy shit-“ The Goat huffed. Before he could say much else though, he suddenly felt the feelings of fuzziness rush towards his head. He let out a bleat, quickly clutching it on instinct. From there he was able to feel the changes to his fur. Starting with the color, it quickly changed from a ebon black, to a snowy-white. Right afterwards, The Goat’s fur began to grow out, all the while it compacted into clumps that quickly shed their rough and scraggly nature, becoming soft and fluffy instead.
“UHHHH-!” The Goat cried out, squishing the wool repeatedly.
The Lamb snickered at that. “Heh…soft huh?” They snarked, wincing as their muscle aches intensified.
“Nggh-! It’s only on my head and I already feel like a big marshmallow.” The Goat scoffed. In his peripheral vision, he could see his snout beginning to shorten, and as one could expect, it didn’t feel very good either. Imagine one’s nose being pushed in with a steel rod, and one would get a picture of how it felt at this moment.
The Goat groaned a bit and traced his newly-shortened snout with his hands (The fur of which were also lightening), and as The Goat did so, he could also fear that his beard had seemingly ceased to exist.
The Goat’s face continued to ache as his fur lightened in color and his facial features started to change. The Goat’s muscle softened some, and his face slowly lost all of its sharpness as the masculinity drained away. Right afterwards, Goat’s ears grew slightly longer and rounded out in shape. Finally, The Goat’s horns rapidly shortened and blunted until they were mere stubs on the top of his head, leaving the Goat with a head that was 100% sheep.
“Ugh…I feel…cute.” The Goat slumped. It also seemed as if saying the word ‘cute’ was physically painful for him.
The Lamb chuckled again. “Well…we’re far from done.” They added. The Lamb was surprised that no changes had happened to them yet. They supposed it would be their turn after The Goat was finished changing.
And speaking off…The Goat’s torso was the next to tingle. He groaned as he looked down and watched his fur condense into wool. If he didn’t already feel like a walking marshmallow beforehand, he sure did now.
He then felt a pinch in his sides. The Goat yelped and his eyes widened as he watched his midsection compress inwards ever so slightly. His broad chest began to narrow, all the while his pectoral muscles swelled out into a set of modest breasts. And while all that was happening, The Goat’s thick, muscular arms slimmed out significantly until they were much thinner and daintier. By now, The Goat’s clock barely fit, and he was forced to hold it on with his hands.
But The Goat wouldn’t have much time to process all of that, as the changes would go to his lower half next.
His legs wouldn’t change all that much (besides some slight narrowing and changes to his fur color), but what was between them certainly did. In fact, it eroded entirely, being erased from existence as if it were never there to begin with. With that, The Goat’s transformation was pretty much done. Once that was over with, The Goat’s entire body was squished downwards, losing several inches of height with now caused his cloak to fall off completely, the surprise of the shrinking catching him off guard and forcing him to drop it. No longer a goat, now fully a lamb. THE Lamb in fact.
“Nrrgh…” ‘The Goat’ groaned, slowly taking a few steps around. “How the hell do you live like this? I feel like I could float away at any minute I’m so damn light.”
The Lamb let out another snicker. By now the aches had reached their peak, and they could tell their form was no longer long for this world.
“Aheh…I suppose we’ll both have to get used to this for a while… augh-!” The Lamb grunted and lurched forward, their snout jutting out as their fur thinned out a little and a small tuft of fur drooped down from their chin, forming a beard of sorts.
After that, The Lamb’s wool began to almost pulsate as if being blown up like a balloon, and soon enough the clumps of wool began to pop like bubbles, instantly shifting into a black hue and falling into scruffy stands of fur that rested scruffily against The Lamb’s head.
The Goat just watched with a discomforted expression the entire time. Surreal crap like this was exactly the reason he stayed away from all this magic stuff and just cut everything down with his axes.
The Lamb winced again as their horns grew several inches, sharpening as if being put to a grindstone. Then their soft facial structure edged out and hardened with muscle and roughening fur.
Now that their head was done changing, the changes worded their way downwards. The Lamb let out more grunts as they felt their soft, fluffy wool decompress into a coat of rough, black fur. Their breasts would seemingly pop just like their wool before disintegrating into nothingness. Their chest would begin widening afterwards, seemingly to compensate for the loss of The Lamb’s breasts.
It wouldn’t be long before The Lamb’s shirt began to strain as their body packed on muscle. Their sleeves had already began tearing with the swelling of their arms, and soon enough their shirt would be reduced to a sleeveless one. Very soon after THAT, their torso began to completely burst through their shirt, and they eventually just allowed the scraps to fall to the ‘floor’ beneath them. The Lamb’s cloak would also snap off as well, crumpling up around their hooves.
The Lamb twitched repeatedly as their new body shape finalized. A few more seconds passed and their legs ballooned out with muscle, (and a new organ formed out the empty space between their now-muscular legs) causing half of their pant legs to explode away. This essentially caused them to be reduced to shorts.
But sadly, ‘The Lamb’ wouldn’t even get to keep what remained, as they suddenly shot up nearly a foot in height, causing their shorts to stretch way beyond their limit and tear off entirely. The Lamb yelped and snatched up their cloak in an attempt to cover their lower half.
That was that at long last. The two caprine had fully switched bodies.
With their transformations fully done, the two of them switched cloaks and just stumbled awkwardly around the plane they resided in, attempting to get used to the feel of each other’s body.
“Grrrgh…I’m already missing my body.” ‘The Goat’ groaned as she rubbed her face.
As for ‘The Lamb’, they honestly didn’t mind the feeling of this body. Of course, they couldn’t imagine staying in it permanently, but it wasn’t a totally uncomfortable feeling.
“Well…let’s just see what we wish to see, then return quickly so we don’t have to spend too much time in these unfamiliar forms.” ‘The Lamb’ suggested.
“Tch…yeah. So what do I do now? Do I just do the meditating thing again?” ‘The Goat’ inquired.
‘The Lamb’ nodded. “Mm-hm. And then all you need to do is do it once again once you’re ready to return.” ‘The Lamb’ then sat back down. ‘The Goat’ would follow after.
With that, both of them shut their eyes and shortly traded places in their respective universes. As for what happened after…well, that’s a story for another day.
