Hiking is one of my main mental health strategies. When folks say the "mountains call to me", it's more that my body and mind yearn for the lessons and release of hiking the mountains. If there's a CPT exercise, I can relate it to hiking. I call the mountains my church. I've probably done more emdr on myself in the mountains than the two years with my therapist. Here's what's going on in these.
Sometimes we forget we're human and not omnipotent beings with a vision of past, present, and future. Humans are utterly terrible at predictions. We are also awful at recall! So it's frustrating to think "I should know how to go forward, why don't I?" Or "this not going how I planned at all". Or maybe I'm simply walking on a ridge, a mile above sea level, and the damned trees are STILL blocking my photo. But they're part of life too, accept them.

I keep trying to loosen up and be more 'expressive', but perpetually fail. I suppose I'll have to make it a focus to do "speed paints" over the year... a good exercise and lots of posts on patreon if I manage that amount of discipline.
I'm watching two jays (there's a family group of six) fight at the feeder as if it's not big enough for four... A third sibling just swooped in... jay politics are fun.
