One night I was binge watching cartoons in an effort to drown out the political anxiety in my brain and a thought wandered in: What would happen if Lunari's antler things didn't stop growing and fall off when they were supposed to? What if they just kept going for some reason? Would there be any limit on their size, aside from the size of door frames? She's already got gravity magic so neck strain would be less of an issue, but whacking them on the walls and furniture would get old fast. Just a fun idea to doodle. I imagine they'd stick waaaay out the side, but it's hard to convey that in profile. Maybe when I get better at Blender... (And that's the short version, you may stop here if you don't want to read technical nerdy ramblings about fictional moon magic lol)

Canonically, their growth is based on the phase and cycle of the nearest moon, relative to her position. Currently she lives on Earth in the year 255X, so they are synched to the earth's Moon, and give her strong water and ice magic when they are large. New growth starts on the New Moon, they hit full size/stop growing at the Full Moon, stay that size, and then fall off and start over at the New Moon. So I'm not even entirely sure if this kind of overgrowth would be possible, or just theoretical. It would really depend on the exact relation of horn growth to moon position. And how we define moons. And if the moon's size matters or just the phase/cycle and proximity. Also some moons are radioactive or volcanic, or have no tides to influence because there's no water on the planet they orbit, so would she have different magic for that horn cycle? It became a very interesting debate over in my Discord server. Still, it was fun to explore and think about. Might be more horn doodles in the future. Maybe if she was near Io for whatever reason she'd have horns that look vastly different...!

Sorry for my absence! I kinda fell off the face of the internet after the start of November. The reasons are many and complicated and more than a little emotionally upsetting, I've got a series of journals writing it down as it happened if you want the juicy, festering details (mind the trigger warnings!)...
