"Think about it. Feeling the grass under your feet as you gather fruit. Trading a city full of strangers for a tribe that loves you. You'll sleep under the stars with us and know what real freedom is."
Circ squirmed as the mouse backed him against the tree, the both of them wearing nothing but green loincloths woven from simple textiles. The cat's cheeks were hot with blush as Roger caressed hisi chest and abs. He'd gone looking for the mouse when he got a strange message saying he was going "home", dropping everything to live in a rodentfolk tribe. One step in a snare trap later, and he'd been stripped down and brought to see his friend face-to-face. The mouse looked different, and it wasn't just the bodypaint. His body was leaner, more muscular. and there was an intensity in his eyes that made it hard for Circ to look away. He could feel himself be drawn in deeper... deeper.
"We're all gonna be so close together..." The feline moaned as Roger painted swirling patterns in vibrant green all over his caramel-colored fur.
"You always knew it, didn't you? That you didn't belong in the city. Unhappily domesticated and constricted by mass-produced clothing, let it all go." The more Roger spoke, the more oppressive Circ's daily life felt. The rules, the commute, the pollution, the ugly gray concrete. All around him, he could see the wild rodentfolk live free from such inhibitions. They slept when they wanted, danced and played music and made love when they desired, not when given permission to do so.
"You'll teach me how to make things by hand... and I'll appreciate every piece of clothing I have." Circ had barely finished speaking when Roger went in for a kiss. It was like an electric current had been completed as their lips met, a rush of emotions hit the feline all at once. Pleasure, comfort, excitement. Not at being given anything, but having something taken away, a weight lifting off his soul.
"Yes. The forest will provide you with all that you need, and you won't need or want anything it doesn't." Roger said. "Consider it like this: You're going into recovery from an addiction to material things, to technology."
"A nice detox... one that I can stay in forever, if I want."
Roger's hands trailed down Circ's front, grasping his hips with a passionate intent.
"Now you're getting it. We simply have life to live, and it'll be amazing."
