This Arhulian is laying back and inviting one for a big (and long) hug. Do you dare?

Despite their imposing nature, Arhulians are big cuddle bears, enjoying closeness with those they hold dear. Though of course, there's more to intimacy than physical matters. One of an arhulians most personal places is their own 'thoughtsphere'. It's a place that can only be visited by the stillness of a sleeping mind. In fact, Arhulians do not require sleep in the way we do. They only 'sleep' when they wish to go dormant, and meditate in the thoughtsphere. In such a place, with the stimulus of the physical world muted, the deeper levels of their psionic powers can be tapped into.

In this place, hereditary memories from their lineage can be more directly accessed. If trying to remember something from not their own lived experience is like having a person give you a summary of a book, tapping into the thoughtsphere and re-experiencing those memories as if they were their own is like reading the book directly. With those that sleep atop (or inside) their body, an Arhulian can share vivid memories and experiences with even a non-psionic. To share these innate experiences is a sign of deep intimacy from an Arhulian.

Of course, the thoughtsphere can also be used to construct fantastical experiences, much like a traditional mind when lucid dreaming. Yet the experience is more, almost as if it were real. However, that same fidelity poses a danger to an untrained mind. A place where any whim can become real is a a place where one's fears, depravities, and traumas can manifest in disturbingly vivid ways, potentially causing one to be plagued by realities that never were, or lose sight of what is real and what is a construct of the thoughtsphere. The first thing an Arhulian does when they discover a rare person that has psionic potential is to teach them about the thoughtsphere, and be a firm anchor for their psionic 'puberty' for the lack of a better term.

Still, with those they care for, they wish to slumber together with, so the Arhulian can share their cherished memories and experiences in the most, direct, unfiltered way. Sleep well, and see the stars of a world never witnessed by person nor beast.
