From the first time that these hegdehogs are met, their fates were sealed for the rest of eternity... -w-
or at least until the new Sonic Team make a stupidity and kill Amy. =B
I don't care what others say. To me, Amy was, is and always will be the partner of Sonic. No Sally, Bunny, Mina, Fiona, Blaze, Tiara, Elise, ¿Chris Thorndyke? etc, etc, etc. SonAmy forever!
Happy 20th Anniversary blue hegehog! Even though Sonic Team has lost respect for you, I'll always be your fan! 8D

I see the "Sally" universe and the "Amy" universe as two distinct, parallel universes, so I don't see why I have to choose one over the other. I like them both, and I don't see them in conflict with each other.
This is very cute, and I love that you used the vintage Amy design. Very nice.

cute drawing, but uh....I don't remember Amy originally being sonics partner. In Sonic CD, she was about as young as tails, who was half the age of sonic. In SA1-2, she was more like a deranged stalker. I haven't played any sonic past that {except for Colours} but maybe they did act like a couple in those games, I dunno.
If you are going to argue that they were a couple in SA 1-2, I don't see it. They didn't do anything or say anything that would indicate a couple status.

While there is no formal relationship between these two characters, their bond is quite clear. The charm of this pair is precisely the idea of an impossible love.
In my personal opinion, Sonic does not have time (or desire) to have a mellow relationship with Amy, but there is a feeling of protection to the girl. I consider this a relationship.
In the case of SonAlly, the relationship is secure and therefore, predictable and even boring. Instead, the sonamy is much more fun. At least in my opinion.
If you have questions about the feelings of Sonic, you should see the episode 9 of Sonic X, and the episode 42, where Sonic accepted a date with Amy, but thanks to Bokkun could not arrive on time.

I haven't paid too much attention to the comics, but I know that in the past 10 years they have broken up at least twice. Not really what I would call secure. Also, in the latest sonic comic....she gets killed.....well, it's a very big possibility.
Also, in Satam, sonic and sally don't really have a relationship beyond kissing. However, Sonic does have strong feelings about her, wants to protect her, and even has panic attack daydreams where he isn't able to save her. It's also not a totally secure relationship, because sally is able to get wooed by minor characters.
