There are no words to explain how Fantastic this is, from colors, saturation, lighting, texture, everything... it just draws you in to the walk with him to where you can almost smell the lush greenery and feel the warm sun on your face... wonderful work as always!

All good artists are their own worst critics -- which is probably what makes them good.

You are the painter of this piece, but to me the character's peaceful expression is perfect for this quiet scene. As for there being something "odd" between the background and the character ... I am not sure I see it since I read the picture as he is just stepping into some sunlight in his walk after being in the soft shadows of the background. But I will not disagree with you since you are the artist.

Something doesn't feel right here. I think it might be the perspective. Note how fast the railroad track appears smaller when the distance lengthens, but the trees and foliage doesn't follow the same pattern.

I'd say you rushed the landscape a bit, but that's just me. Nonetheless, it's lovely.
