The beer restaurant in my town is called "Capital Alehouse" and I don't understand why a place with a thousand craft & imported beers would even bother stocking Bud and PBR. BUT THEY DO. It boggles the mind. You can order some crazy exotic brew that you've never heard of & you'll never find anywhere else, and you're gonna stick with "the Silver Bullet?" Such people do not deserve to drink.
I've been there and they have one hell of a selection (and a tasty burger!) Are they still doing the cheap burgers on Monday deal to get people in there for the beer? I wish we had one of those closer to Charlotte :\
Guess you gotta keep the crap beer on hand to make *some* money off the people who won't stray from the big three companies :\
Have you watched Beer Wars? I think it's still on Netflix if you have that. Nice little documentary about the craft brew movement.

It's been over a year since I went to the Alehouse, but as far as I know they still do Dollar Burger Night on Monday. Though I heard a nasty rumor that the burgers are now $2. Still, two bucks for a damn fine burger leaves you enough for an $8 beer without breaking the bank. They opened a 2nd restaurant in Midlothian, which I think is 10 miles closer to Charlotte... There used to be a similar place called the Taproom in walking distance of my apartment, but I think it closed a few years ago.
What's awesome for me is, I live only a block away from a Catholic military academy (don't ask because I don't understand it either) which hosts a big Oktoberfest in its parking lot every September (I also don't understand why Oktoberfest is in September, but whatever.) It has everything: Live oom-pah band ... wurst and sauerkraut and giant pretzels ... slutty Catholic schoolgirls from St. Gertrude's (one block in the other direction) ... AND area breweries bringing their best to cool off the crowd. Legend is made just across the river from me, and Saint George in Hampton (a mere 60 miles away) puts out some fine British-style ales.
I've never seen "Beer Wars" because honestly I don't see the point in watching a movie about beer; I'd rather drink it.
