The completed sketch commission for
loneox of his character dressed as a Sergeant in the 95th Rifles: a specialised British brigade during the Napoleonic wars of the early 19th century who wore dark green and were one of the precursers for modern snipers, skirmishing and picking off key targets on the battlefield while being encouraged to be Innovative and Independently minded. Some of them were ex-poachers escaping the noose by joining the army: the perfect role for a fox then :P

I suppose with Napoleon filling his army with mostly conscripts, training troops to use rifled muskets was deemed to be too costly. A better rate of fire was deemed to be better than accuracy. See where it got him in the end though.
Personally I like the redcoat uniforms. There was something flash but also quite business-like about them. Though French cavalry regiments always looked stunning. By the end of the wars though I doubt much of the parade-ground finery remained on either living or dead soldiers.
Oh, btw. The 95th were nick-named the 'Green Jackets' for a reason :P.

Ah, my mistake then! Didn't know they carried that title. :p
I can't disagree when you say they're business like, but I feel they lacked the kind of stylish aesthetic the French seemed to like. Perhaps I'm just biased because of the mix of blue, white, and gold, lol.
I rather liked Prussian cavalry uniforms myself. The Prittwitz and such looked so marvelously evil.
