The Captain, a purposed organism designed by the iterator, Above The Low, Amber Sky (ATLAS), was modified with antennae similar to those used by their overseers in order to better adapt it to using the modified Mark of Communication.

The Captain is able to tame any animal through means similar to which most slugcats can tame lizards, using its modified mark to communicate with them and issue orders. It gains power by taming large amounts of creatures and using its mark to deliver various orders to them. The complexity of the orders it can issue is limited by the intelligence of the pets the orders are issued to. It may also ride any tamed beast as large or larger than it.

Theoretically, its mark would allow it to converse with the local scavengers, given enough time, but due to its affiliation with the local iterator and overseer-like features, the scavengers are extremely hostile towards it.

The Captain is physically weak on its own, but becomes a force to be reckoned with once it gains enough allies.
