Thanks Cat, and likewise! Mostly I get ideas just by shamelessly ripping off the stories that I like. I also try to think of what I want to see in a story (so in this case, awful body-horror creatures and a couple of scavengers stuck in a car trying to survive) before coming up with ways to make those story elements work together.
