The children's bellies felt pleasantly warm with a few swallows of their doting mother's breastmilk in their stomachs from pre-dance cuddles. The six members of the family were all dancing about in the ballet room James had arranged built for his wife and kids to enjoy as as soon as his children were old enough to start the art. James chuckled playfully as he fenced with his two older boys, James and his two sons both dressed in tights and men's ballet tunics in addition to their ballet shoes. Meanwhile, James's wife did plie squats by the bar running through the wall and their daughter and youngest boy copied their mother. Mother, daughter and youngest son wore unitards and frilly tutus along with their pointe shoes. The couple's gentle youngest son even had sparkles on his unitard as he'd requested, as did his sister.
"Surrender, men! The princesses are mine, all mine!" James shouted to his boys in character, playing a dastardly villian as he and his boys continued to fence with their rapiers as they practiced their ballet moves to the mock fight.
"We will not concede! Simon, rescue the princesses while I battle this scoundrel!" James's oldest son cried back also playing along, and Bruce giggled with glee as he play fought his huge dad and Simon danced over to his mom and siblings, who gracefully leapt and danced around him, symbolizing their rescue.
"We thank you, gracious musketeer." Lonely sang, her daughter and youngest son copying her as she lithely leapt about circling Simon.
"Yes, quickly, this way." Simon sang back, and he danced forward with his sword thrust out and his mother and siblings followed, as the chuckles of James and Bruce in a heated now real but friendly sword fight echoed about the dance room.
"You've gotten good, Brucey. Well done!" James gasped, breathing hard as he fought to block his burly son's rapid blows. Bruce smiled big, eating up his dad's approval.
"Mom, did you hear what dad....ahh!" Bruce felt his father's careful safety-capped rapier gently press to his throat, and James playfully grabbed his son and pulled him in close, holding him hostage in the pretend scenario the family was dancing out. "Oh dang, I let my guard down!"
"So you did, musketeer." James snarled, pretending to pin his boy tighter, and he did, but very carefully.
"Stay here princesses, I must aid my comrade in arms. You! Unhand him at once!" Simon gave a fancy spin of his rapier and came at James with quick flurries of his blade, which his father blocked; James was huge and very powerful, but due to his size he lacked in speed, and matching his sons quick pace was a challange as they were faster than the adult men he was used to fighting.
"You too Monty, well done, very well done. Ahh!" James cried and pretended to be stabbed as Simon's safety-capped rapier tip poked James's side, and James fell to his knees clutching at the pretend wound.
"Quick, finish him!" Bruce cried as he joined his brother in the fake sword stabs.
"Ahh! Defeated by smaller men! This cannot be!" James faked a theatrical death and his children and wife all giggled at his dramatic performance as he held aloft a quivering hand and then went limp on the floor. The kids and his wife all clapped and cheered for each other and James smiled and stood back up, laughing happily as his boys ran in for hugs and kisses to reassure him of their love, getting both back from their adoring father. "Great sword work today, boys. Both of you. Those fencing lessons have really worked out great for you guys." James messed up both his two boy's hair affectionately.
"Yeah, I like fencing." Bruce said proudly, as Simon nodded next to him.
"Daddy, I wanna do a flying leap like mommy does! Can you help me?" Henrietta begged in her girly tutu, James made an endearing face at his little girl.
"Of course I will, princess. Marty, you too honey." James added lovingly towards his youngest son, who jumped and squealed excitedly at the notion. "Let's watch mommy do her beautiful leap, and we'll fly with her." James suggested, Lonely smiled tenderly at her kids and husband and got into position beside James as he easily hefted both Henrietta and Marty in each of his huge hands, using a bicycle lift technique to support the kids as they did an elegant leaping pose and James pranced quick as he could alongside his wife who leapt through the air on her long equine legs, her classical tutu giving a slight bob as she landed and twirled.
"Now we land...and we twirl...good job, princesses. Now, how about some magic wands? Twirl, and leap, good job. Twirl, and leap, that's it, follow mommy. & plie. Oh, thank you!" James chuckled as both his daughter and Martin were 'blessing' him with their sparkly star wand props, gently bopping his nose.
"I bestow on thee, beauty and youth." Henrietta said with a charming curtsy. James blushed and chortled, touched.
"Thank you, fairy princess!" James pulled his girl into a big hug and smooched her cheek and forehead, and she giggled with delight.
"I bless you with wisdom and foresight." Martin said next, and James did the same to him and Martin giggled and squirmed with glee but not to get away, simply in enjoyment. Lonely watched with her hands clasped in adorance, her heart bursting with love for her family. James put on a favorite classical tune on the gramophone and the 6 of them danced lightly about, the more nimble doing foot flutters and standing on toes and the larger boys and man doing plies & smaller leaps and any other ballet moves their bulkier frames could manage.
"I love ballet day! Hahaha, whee!" Henrietta whooped, a bit hyper from the fun and attention. The song wound down slowly and James put a tender brawny arm around his wife and she leaned into him with a happy sigh as the couple watched their kids playing and burning off their excitement with devoted pride together. The four children could see the love for them sparkling in their parents' eyes & they continued their dance and play and chatting, knowing they were safe & sound.
