My Dungeons and Dragons group recently finished a big story arc so I wanted to draw my character Barst to show how far he's come since his first appearance.
Barst now wears a new outfit meant to denote an elite warrior status among his clan, the Jaraya, loosely based on a couple of the Maasai outfits from Assassin's Creed: Origins. His necklace is made up of assorted jewelry and mementos taken from his adventures. It was inspired by how Norse elite women wore several rows of assorted beads of gems, glass, wood, metal, bone, etc., gotten from trading and raiding, as a sign of status. He also carries a Bag of Holding. I modified the "official" design to have a more ursine appearance. The party looted it in a camp of necromancer cultists. Their leader was using it to hold a dozen corpses' worth of body parts. It took a while to clean up and get rid of the smell.
Strapped to his belt are effigies of a bear and a red dragon. The bear was the option I picked for him as a Path of the Totem Warrior Barbarian. The red dragon was a gift from the dragonkin chieftain Rogik, who carved it from the bones of the wyvern that was menacing his people's lands and that Barst's party slew in their first adventure. Our dungeon master homebrewed it to grant Barst the Totem Warrior aspect of the Eagle in addition to his default Bear totem.
In his hand is the sword of Ati'wan, a Tarrei (minotaur) knight who was in the service of one called the Storm-Horned Prince. Ati'wan was a mummy that the party fought, sealed in an old tomb on a cursed island of undead. As he met his final defeat, he made the party swear to destroy the "Forge of Flesh", which was the source of the island's undead infestation, and gave Barst his sword. The sword was later imbued with Ati'wan's blessing (extra 1d8 lightning damage) after Barst made a vow to protect the Prince's body, which was held in magical stasis within the Forge of Flesh. The party managed to destroy the Forge (which was the culmination of the aforementioned 'big story arc') and bring the Prince to safety, though that's still an ongoing story.
Beside him is the urn of Djali, a djinni who we found in his vessel which was left abandoned with the treasures of the dragonborn king Thiris Brightscale in his tomb. He now "travels" with the party to see the world, and he also trades mundane items with the party.
In the background are his loyal retainers, Jaz, Garn and Krast, who have learned a few skills throughout the adventure, though that isn't shown here.
