What do you mean with me being 15 years too late?-
But yeah with the lack of major Pokémon game releases in 2024, I decided to finally check out the Gen 2 Remakes from Gen 4. Also, since it doesn't seem like any future Johto games will have Johto the way people know it as and it's the only main series region I have literally never been to (I started being a fan in Gen 4 but didn't start also playing Remakes until ORAS), I wanted to actually experience it. And damn, the game became PRICY! OwO Oh well.
Yes, this is the team I beat Red with. On the first attempt. Without any items and only one of my Pokémon fainted. You don't need a perfect team to do so. xD They all definitely mattered to make the victory possible though~
Anyway, this time all of them are named after characters of mine. :3 Half of them genderbent, but to be fair, male Miltank don't exist in the games. >w>
Usually I'd talk about what made me want each Pokémon in the team but since I have characters for each (though my character Hephaestia is a Slugma, not a Magcargo like in my team here), that is already the reason. Buuuut I could briefly go over how each of those became important enough Pokémon to make characters of. :3 So I'ma do that now.
The Typhlosion line became important to me pretty much solely because of having Phelix, he's one of those character that I originally intended to limit to just one story for a role specific to it but ended up growing on me, leading to me to bring him back and the line to grow on me a lot more because of it. ^_^
I always kinda liked Abra, it's cute. :3 The name of the character and therefore of the team member here comes from the nickname (in the German version) of the Abra an NPC trades you.
For Slugma and Magcargo to rise up on which Pokémon I like particularly much, two separate factors came together. On one hand, me starting to really love insects and spiders pretty easily extended to more invertebrates. On the other hand, when I was completing the Gen 2 part of my Art Pokédex and it was time to draw Slugma for it, I just found it too adorable to resist turning it into a full on character, which made the Pokémon more special to me as a result. xp
Dunsparce is easy to explain: I have a thing for the underappreciated. OwO
If my many Eeveelution characters didn't make it clear, I obviously love Eeveelutions, and Espeon is simply one of the ones I didn't feature in a team of mine yet. xp
I enjoyed Miltank's look more and more over time, seeing more and more of a cutie in it, eventually leading to my character Dionysus to be created, a male lisping famous actor who loves to get drunk and whose udder produces wine instead of milk. \^w^/ Totally normal.
And nooow... we wait for Pokémon Day in... oh my Arceus, just three days from now? OWO AAAHHHHH EXCITEMENT!!!
