"Some of you might remember I caught a zebra when I first came to the Pride Lands. Well, here she is. Her name is Jaza. Say hello."
Jaza: "Mmf."
Verity: "And this handsome fellow right here is called Zaide."
Zaide: "Mmm!"
Verity: "And the honey badger... Well, that's me. It just seemed a lot easier to assume the form of an African animal rather than constantly have to explain what a skunk is. Even if there have been non-native species here since the beginning (*cough*anteaters*cough*)."

Verity: "Well, lions are definitely her favorite because..." (reaches over and pets her muzzle) "Can I say?"
Jaza: "All my childhood friends were lions and I relate better to them than my own kind."
Verity: "Ah, okay. But no, we don't discriminate. She just wouldn't immediately gulp down something else."
OOC answer:
I sort of ended up building a narrative about Usafiri (AKA: Pride Lands' Tera), Chajio, etc. where Verity cooked up some B.S. explanation for how she and others are able to do endo and negotiated to settle their own semi-independent sub-community between the Pride Lands and the Tree of Life, which ended up resulting in a "pride" that also includes a lot of other animals, both from the Pride Lands (lion, hyena, zebra, gemsbok, etc.) and elsewhere (tiger, civet, polar bear, etc.). So if Jaza or anyone else in the community were to chance across any other animal who seemed trustworthy and trusted them enough to be willingly swallowed, they'd very likely welcome them in.
