Ruby Squirrel, also known by her nickname "Red," is a mother whose warmth and care for her child, Orange, were unwavering. As a mother squirrel, she provided a nurturing environment for Orange during his childhood, encouraging him to always do his best and never give up. Her presence was a steady source of love and support, constantly reminding Orange that failure was just another opportunity to try again. However, despite her constant care, Ruby grew frustrated over time as Orange resisted growing up and completing the Road of Ordeals. Her patience began to wear thin as his unwillingness to face the challenges of the Road of Ordeals persisted.

Unbeknownst to Orange for most of his life, Ruby was not his biological mother. She had adopted him as a child, providing him with a life filled with warmth, comfort, and the freedom to grow up without the struggles of hardship. That, however--was the downfall of Orange, having never felt or even understood the meaning of 'pain' or feeling pain until he learned the truth. While this truth helped him pass the Road of Ordeals, it poisoned his relationship with his so-called mother.
