thatguywithnopie, who gave me an open-ended request to draw Bubble however I wanted. To that end, I decided to tackle an idea I've been holding onto for a while now... Say hello to Mega Bubble!
A unique reaction between Bubble's physiology and the Lopunnite stone causes her to absolutely balloon with fat upon Mega Evolving. Standing over twice her previous height and well over eight times heavier, you might think her bloated appearance is more comical than anything, but don't let appearances fool you. Bubble's muscles become dense enough to shatter concrete with a stomp, and she's capable of throwing herself through the air like a wrecking ball to catch opponents off-guard.
The energy for Bubble's transformation comes from her strong desire to protect those close to her. In times of duress, Mega Evolving gives her the strength to take on nearly any opponent; however, the form does not come without its drawbacks. Bubble's kind and placid personality boils over with rage, turning her into a ruthless berserker who terrifies the same family she's fighting to protect. It's for this reason that Bubble hates going Mega, and only turns to it when she's left with literally no other options.
Anyways, I just think it's fun to imagine Bubble in a new way like this. This pic was a lot of fun to work on, and the combination of Bubble having such an intense expression while being completely and utterly orbfat goes really hard in my opinion... Or really soft, given how squishy she is.
Also three Lopunny pics in one month, that's gotta be a new record for me right?
