A crisp breeze blows dry leaves tumbling down the sidewalk and into your legs. You tug your jacket up closer and look ahead to your Pokemon partner.
"Don't lag behind master?" came Ashley's voice.
Your beautiful Blaziken Ashley walks a little ways in front of you, so you speed up to fall in next to her. The town you both were currently staying in was a modest but busy one. The hustle and bustle of people and Pokemon running about gave a murmuring background noise to the scene. Though perhaps less bustle than usual thanks to the chilly winter weather. "Warm enough for you, not quite for me," you mutter.
"Come now Master," says Ashley spinning around to address you. "We spent plenty of time during winter locked inside like lazy loads. Now that it's almost Spring, we should get outside and train. Especially for you."
"Why especially me?" you ask. "I'm the Pokemon trainer here, but it feels like I'm the one getting trained today."

But something else catches your notice, about the types of people you see roaming about the town. There were an awful lot of couples out today... enough to mark as strange.
Ashley seems to notice also as you catch her staring at a guy laughing with his girlfriend on a park bench. Across the street a local cafe is completely packed with couples, and through the jungle of pink decorations in the windows you can see them enjoying a semi-romantic atmosphere.
"Must be some kind of Valentines thing," you comment passively. "It was a few days ago I think... I dunno, I don't remember dates and holidays very well."
"Valentines," mutters Ashley staring wide eyed at the lovey dovey humans lost in each other's company. "That's the um... human festival of mating, correct?"
"Uh... you could call it that," you agree. "Lovers go on dates with each other and buy little gifts and stuff."
Ashley suddenly sighs with a puff of fire. "Oh Patrat! I didn't know... I should have gotten you something as a gift."
"Nah, it's fine girl," you assure her. "I don't need a gift to know how much you love me. Come on... let's keep walking."

You stop to catch your breath beside stone garden wall while Ashley bounces on her heels in front of you.
"Come on Master, we're... almost... back to the Pokemon inn!"
"For one... I need a break, you're going to fast girl," you gasp out. "Second, where the heck are we? Looks like you're leading me right into the ghetto! I think we should turn around before a Team Rocket grunt tries to jump us from behind a trash can or something."

Ashley wobbles a bit in place and then turns around to face you. Her eyes are hazy, her face is flushed with heat, and a thin layer of sweat coats her reddish pelt.
