Heather is a rather respectable young lady, moving into her older cousin, Ramona's house in the beach town to get away from 'the same old sights' of her hometown. She's not a free-loader, she found a job at the local flourist and when she's not working that job she's helping out at Ramona's bar to earn her keep. Like her cousin Ramona, they're both born into wealth but have been brought-up and taught to not take their family's fortune for granted. Therefore, they desire to be seen as regular folk so they can live enriched lives before taking over serious matters in the future.

Despite being responsible, she's also very shy because of her rather long tail that gets her into trouble tripping and knocking into things and others, causing her to be embarrassed. And when she is embarrassed a 'tough guy' defensive behavior comes over her and she can look mean and cold to anyone around her. To avoid that, she coils up her tail to minimize her space around others.
