Meh... Tried something different for a change... >w>; Should have put this into my scraps, but I'll admit--I put quite a bit of work into it to be tossed away like that. I'm still working with pastels every so often, and this is my cry for help trying to get used to them before I go off and draw another picture (like the one I did for Dereck).
Scenery... THAT'S different, coming from me for a change...! I'm not that great at it, but would probably be better if I just didn't try to draw characters in with them!! I think that's the biggest part of why people can't do something--because they say they can't, and they just don't do it. Me--I'm struggling, but I'm not giving up. I was pleased with this picture--even if it did look like a fourth grader drew it.
Whenever I try to draw scenery, it's usually one of two things that come to mind: First off, I think of forests deep and mysterious; the smells of pine, cedar, birch, maple, and many other plants, with the mixed scent of wildflowers and grasses. Secondly, I get stuff like this: Fields of grasses, gently loping hills, and Super Mario 64-style trees with really radical looking roots. What more could you ask for in life? X3 Oh, and the clouds too. Gotta have the clouds.
So, bath and bask in the results of my picture, or turn and run for dear life. I'm gonna try more of this soon--I'd really like to improve on this...!
