“The world still burns, but I keep moving. There's no turning back.”
Night had long fallen over the ruins of the city he was passing through. Darkness was his ally, silence his only companion. He moved carefully, avoiding the light, slipping between the remnants of a world that no longer existed.
Naetis was on his way south, an endless march through a shattered France. Every step took him further from the past and closer to whatever remained of his home. He had seen enough horrors to know that hope was a rare commodity. But he had to keep going, never stopping.
💙 Survival was the only law left.
He paused for a moment at the top of a staircase, scanning the horizon through broken neon signs and torn posters. In the distance, fireworks lit up the sky—remnants of the old world, or perhaps a signal from survivors. But he couldn’t take the risk of finding out. The days of following the light were long gone.
The city groaned like a wounded beast, whispering memories of what it once was. The streets below were empty, save for shadows that stretched and recoiled under the flickering signs. He wasn’t alone. He never was.
💙 The ruins were watching.
His eyes drifted down to his gear. His rifle, always within reach. His vest, weighed down by ammunition and memories. His clothes, worn from the road. Everything he carried had a price. Every bullet spent meant another risk taken.
---
A quiet sigh escaped his lips. Another night of walking. Another night of surviving.
💙 The south awaited him. Toulon awaited him.
But the road was still long. And the ghosts of this land were not yet done with him.
ΞΞΞ Nowhere is safe. But stopping is not an option. ΞΞΞ
