Wonderful YCH my amazing

M’Ria was looking at the blue full body armour, which was unlike anything she had seen before. It was from several hard plated pieces of armour – chest plate, small semispherical spaulders and hard thigh plates with strange black round parts on them, high boots with textured shoe soles; a few flexible armoured pieces that should cover abdomen and lower back; and a full body under-armour suit. It even has a tail... tube? And a full face helmet, of course. M’Ria had never seen a khajiit or an argonian covering their tails. She looked at Maks questionably.
– Since you got familiar with mass accelerating firearms, it’s time to learn about high-tech armour. – Maks explained, – here is a light space suit armour, a modified version of the standard Asari commando unit armor; there are also medium, heavy and extra-heavy classes. First, let me show you how to put it on...
After some time of swearing and hissing, M’Ria managed to put the whole suit on, except for helmet.
– Is it truly necessary? – M’Ria grumbled, moving her shoulders and shifted from foot to foot, – it’s quite uncomfortable.
– It is, – he nodded, – everyone is complaining at first, you’ll get used to it quickly. Also it’s airtight, you can walk in it under full vacuum or toxic atmosphere, and it’s resistant to extreme temperatures, so that the Throat of the World will seem to you as sunny resort and Red Mountain’s mouth – cool lake.
– Do we really need to get to such places? – M’Ria pouted. Maks only nodded, not paying attention to her grumpy expression.
– Usually, light class armour provides little protection from kinetic and energy weapon, almost not restricting movements, – he continued explaining, – but this particular one was heavily upgraded. I’ve changed ablative ceramic plates to enchanted mithril-ebony composite ones and sewed in a lining of mithril threads into underarmour...
– Ahbila-... A-bla-ti-ve? – she asked puzzledly syllable by syllable, – and ceramic? They what, used clay for armour?
– Ahuh, no, – Maks chuckled, – ceramic is not only pots and plates. It’s also other hard materials made of refined aluminum oxides with additives, which is actually one of clay components, carbon compounds, etc. It’s highly effective against high-velocity projectiles, and become even more effective with mass effect fields application in production.
– As for “ablative”, – he continued enlightening her, – it’s defense against high-energy weapons such as lasers and plasma – high-tech versions of fireball. When hit by a laser beam or plasma charge, an ablative layer evaporates, reducing thermal damage. The downside of this kind of armour is you have to repair or replace damaged pieces it every time you get hit. And, in our case – it’s difficult to enchant.
– I see, – M’Ria said thoughtfully, absorbing new knowledge, – And what are those? – she pointed at black circles with glowing blue center.
– That’s another interesting part – kinetic barrier, or “shield” emitters, – M’Ria raised her brow, so Maks clarified, – it’s like magic shield, but powered by mass effect fields technology. It stops or reflects high-velocity projectiles for a limited time. Sure, you can maintain magic barrier, and you should do it when “shields” collapse, but they are quickly rechargeable and don’t consume your mana. I only managed to enchant its power source, but didn’t figured out yet how to make emitters more powerful.
– The further – the more sophisticated... – she said rhetorically, shrugging.
– It is, – he smiled, – modern tech requires modern warfare. Now take the pistol, training mode. Time to get down to practice.
And so Maks taught her basics of firearms tactics, solo and in pairs, as well as basics of using this kind of armour. The rest of the theory she will get during their meditation session through soul link, but nobody has cancelled the practice, and M’Ria is really a quick learner.
