It first appeared in "Turbo Charged Prelude", Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) bought the R34 from a used car lot and personally customized it into what you see today.
It reappears in 2 Fast 2 Furious and gained its legendary status in the initial street race, despite being prominent for just that scene and presumably said to be sent to a junkyard after Brian's bust
