The transformation was not gentle. The once-orderly study lay in ruins—books scattered, shelves overturned, glass shards glittering in the dim light. Berita exhaled, coiling her massive serpentine tail beneath her, still feeling the raw power coursing through her new form. Her additional arms moved instinctively, tracing the glowing sigils now etched into her skin, each pulse of energy reminding her of the change she had embraced.
And then, in the doorway, a familiar figure.
Kat had come to visit her friend, only to find chaos and something far beyond what she had expected. Eyes wide, ears twitching, she took a hesitant step forward. “Berita…?”
