Alright, so after getting consumed by Secrets of the Spire, I got back to finishing up the new drawing of the F-45P and their new drip.
This is a Resistance Paint-job.
Freed from the regulation-heavy RDA, Martin and Jackson didn't wait long with trying to fully distance themselves. To this end, their flying machines both had their colors removed to the best of their abilities, and given a new, wild, and unrestrained look, each tied to Pandora and to things that left a profound impact on the pilots. Both were also given an official nickname by their pilots, as well as renaming themselves "War Kite Squadron"
Jackson named his F-45P "Zakru's Blood" and the paint scheme is very much inspired by the Zeswa clan of body and face paint (Specifically I based it on Faui). The choice of paint and name ties to the many dead at the Heartlands during the incident. Though he flies to try and set things right, he knows that whatever he feels about it is but a faint whisper of what the Na'vi and Zeswa felt and endured at the RDA's hands.
Martin named his plane "Broken Hills" and went all out on the paint-job. Having become enamored with the Ke'awa Kame'tire when he was sent to Spires and getting to test himself against them. He now holds them in the highest regard as true masters of the sky, something he aspires to emulate, though he also feels jealous of them and how close they are with their Ikran companions. Even then, it's not like he could show himself to them ever. He stuck with the RDA for longer than both Jackson and Guntram, all so that he'd retain his wings and be able to fly, desperately clinging to his one obsession in life: Flight. To this day, he doesn't know what possessed Jackson to let him be squadron leader again, tarnished as his reputation is.
Even now, the planes still have faded blood red leading edges, an echo of their past with the RDA, where their howl and appearance would instil terror. Because when Wraith Squadron appeared in the sky, death followed.
