While not furry, I think it's quite furry-adjacent. How many of us animal obsessed youngsters picked up these books on an innocent whim because we liked the concept of turning into animals? Only to be radicalized over the course of 60+ books about the horrors of war and the moral ambiguity of making decisions while on the brink of humanity's destruction. And no one was left unscathed. The Animorphs series were my middle-school obsession and this was a nice little nostalgia trip.
