Sequel to this picture
I hadn't quite figured if I would post the rest of this series, but on reflection... I would rather share it and a bit of writing than let it sit on my drives.
Personal Journal Entry
The trouble with having magical protections on my home is having limited ways of ensuring they function as intended. Without getting too... detailed... there are both chances of these protections triggering on people who should be there, and them failing to be useful against those who are legitimately trespassing. This brings me to remembering an incident in particular, regarding earlier iterations of my wards. There had been several people who still thought the manor was abandoned, and I had not yet managed to fix the exterior up to make it clear my home was - in fact - inhabited. I also no longer had a location inside the city, thanks to... events... and so I had intended to use my home to draw in people who had requests.
Sarah Lycroft had been intending to visit "the witch", and her foot slipped out of a defined "safe zone" along the path. As a result she was transferred to my trap in a laboratory, for me to collect and determine what to do with. I thought her another intruder trying to take something which wasn't hers.
I was in error. Mistakes happen, but they can be corrected...
