Something that's been quickly growing on me lately, is to go to coffee shops and draw/paint what I'm having.
I went to my local general store (which happened to be on Valentine's Day; I was out mailing stuff at the post office), which has some seats inside so I could sit and enjoy lunch, and after I ate (and drank most of my coffee), I painted my brownie and coffee cup on the wood table. I love how this turned out, especially the brownies! When looking at it in person, it almost looks like a photo...which surprised me, because I've never really done photo-realistic stuff before. I just kept working on it till it came to that, which again, made me really happy :)
I also have an art travel pack now, which has some pencils, inking pens, kneaded eraser, water brushes (where you fill the brush up with water), a paint tin of watercolours, and a mini palette with gouache. It also fits my 2x2" watercolour sketchbook too, but I also carry around a 4x4" book too, which unfortunately doesn't fit into the pack, but still small enough that I can toss into my purse.
4x4" coldpress watercolour paper, watercolours, with a hint of gouache for the highlights on the brownie.

One thing that's been kinda my mantra for the last couple years: If you have a dream, do it NOW. Get it done. It's too late when you're dead because you won't be around to see results.
I've been missing doing art and going to conventions, and now, I'm going back to school for my art, and I'm more than certain I want to start selling at conventions again...I really missed going to conventions, especially having a table at them.

GORGEOUS drawing! I love the details, and the little story that goes with it. It really does look realistic! Great work!
The brownie of course takes the show, but I ADORE how you captured the sleeve on the cup, how it never stays up, and often times the point of it slips to one side and kind of pokes out. ^ ^ Something magical about that in particular.
This makes me nostalgic. <3
