Star Control II was an incredibly influential game and my introduction to tracker music. I quickly got obsessed with MOD files and the Demo scene, at least as much as I could find back in the pre-internet days, anyway. I've wanted to try to make a tracker inspired song for a long time and had to locate some specific sound fonts, but finally I think I've made something that could have been a Melee combat song in SC2. "Precursors" were the ancient race that existed in the Star Control universe before most other species, and one of their ships serves as your vessel throughout the game.

The main influence for this track was "Hymn to Aurora" by Horace Wimp, something I'd been listening to all week.
