Meet the inscrutable Lazarus M. Silverstone, better known as Captain Silver for his men, people wishing to employ his services or those who happened to meet him at sea. Aboard his ship, The Crimson Phantom, he sets sail on uncharted waters between the Silver and Iron continents. He also used his ship as a merchant vessel. Delivering to various perilous parts of the vast ocean.
Born from the union between a pirate and a selkie, he was abandoned by both his parents at a very young age and raised by a group of fishermen who felt pity for him. Despite harboring resentment towards both his mother and father, he couldn't part away from the sea. He started learning seamanship and fishing as soon as he knew how to walk, this led him to one date wanting to own his own boat, but without money, he couldn't afford that dream.
Once he was old enough, he decided to join the royal naval army of the kingdom he lived in. Despite not having a renowned background, the skills he learned as a fisherman sailing a boat and his rapid learning of combat skills allowed him to climb up the ranks at a very fast rate. In his mid-20s he was already a captain. He fought in at least three wars at sea and in numerous other confrontations during his time still serving under the crown.
At forty, the then vice admiral left the naval army. Lazarus had amassed enough money to have his own ship built and finally enjoy his dream of becoming an explorer of the seas and also to start his own shipping company. Venturing into uncharted waters with his tight crew, he opened up many new commercial routes thanks to his expeditions. The crown then started founding his expeditions, which earned him more funds to go even further into the unknown.
He has always kept to himself, but his reservedness doesn't hide his unmeasurable courage, and the mysteriousness of his character adds to his charisma. Lazarus is still empathetic to his crew's plights, so he does his best to treat them right, even if he looks cold towards them from an outsider’s perspective. They all love him as a captain for it, and his great leadership skills managed to keep most of them alive during all their travels so far. Even after witnessing some pretty horrifying sights, they would trade being a part of the Crimson Phantom’s crew for anything.
Curious facts about Lazarus; he's already pushing sixty, but he's still the undefeated winner of the arm-wrestling contest the crew performs every so often. Also, he lost his right eye while saving some hostages from pirates, one of them gave him a family heirloom as a reward, said to help them avoid danger. After having it implanted, he is now able to foresee various types of perilous or unfortunate events a couple minutes ahead before they happen. It just works on those moments though, otherwise, it serves just like a regular glass eye but fancier.
