August could feel the warm breeze of spring billowing his cape behind him as he looked out over the river Neris. He knew what that first warm gust of air meant: campaigning season. He knew what was coming, he knew what must be done. For his people, for his homeland, and for his gods, he would drive the crusaders into the sea.

A pic of August as a Leitis, one of the personal troops of the Lithuanian Grand Dukes. The Grand Duchy of Lithuania was one of the last states to convert to Christianity in Europe, remaining pagan all the way until the 1380s. This, combined with their relative tolerance of Christians and Jews under the Gediminid dynasty has always fascinated me, so I got  kuro-freak to do this sketch of August wearing some lamellar armor that was common in the area.
