Short n simple, Sebastian is a beastman (a species in GL) as well, two variants is former 'supreme general' aka a high-ranking officer who retired (Viral admired him a lot n yadda yadda, They meet again and hit it off)

other variant is Seb n Viral grew up together and always had a bond, Viral crushed HARD on Seb, seb didn't learn about it until waaaay after the wars.

bonus: Seb in this AU is AFAB (born female) and 'Sebastian' is just his middle name, the full name would be Soraya Sebastian Solace, only cos I wanted an excuse to do some gender fuckery with him (crossdressing, presenting as any gender cos he doesnt care and its funny excuse for boob reveal)

They have kids together, too! Twins named Kin and Gin (gold n silver respectively)
