Kalvecta are a product of their history before they are a product of themselves. Their name springs from the linnean Kal'we, 'abomination', a word which they themselves can no longer speak properly.
A species younger than even humanity, dating back in their creation to roughly 400 years ago. They were created during the Khazithuhn wars, a series of conflicts between the Linnean Pride and Ursuri Republic against the Pul'Que despotate, one of the few times the linneans and ursuri tolerated each other enough to work together against a common foe. At this time the Pul'Que had congealed under the control of the first, and last, Grand Autarch, Khazithuhn Taksheihn.
An incursion lead against the Ursuri Republic escalated into outright war, the savagery and brutality of which was so intense that the normally hostile linneans had been swayed into a state of detente. The Pul'Que respected no laws of warfare, chemical weapons, biological agents, and unbelievably hostile environments were their tools of choice, posing no harm to their forces, which could evolve immunities.
It has not been seen before or since that a linnean A'Alta saw to intervene in support of an ursuri war. The war took decades to resolve, during which linnean soldiers were taken captive. The Pul'Que had an intense hatred for them for intervening in what was supposed to be a limited conflict, and conducted horrific tests and experiments on them and their genetic structure. The end result was the Kal'we transmogrification, a process that transformed the linnean prisoners of war into abominations on a genetic level.
This was the birth of the first Kalvectans, and after the capture and transmogrification of one of the A'Alta's pridestalkers, Ter'Va-Shan, a close friend of his, they sent him back to his master to try and terrify him into leaving the conflict. Ter'Va-Shan, now made into a Kalvecta, could not even speak his mother tongue properly, but willed himself to speak unaided to his childhood friend.
He begged him to continue the war, to shatter the nation of the Pul'Que, and that the Kalvecta, including himself, be banished from returning to the Pride. It took hours, the A'Alta constantly denying the betrayal of his warriors, but as he revealed that the intentions of the Pul'Que were to undermine their very society, culture, and even their species, he plead to honor his request as the last act of friendship they would ever share. Ter'Va-Shan, a name he could no longer even pronounce, had convinced the A'Alta.
The war was fought, and won, and Ter'Va-Shan lead his new people into exile within the Gorunti Salrut. He became Tekochai, one of the first Kalvectan names, and established the Kalvectan identity of today.
In the modern day the Kalvecta have carved out their own nation from the stars, the Kalvectan Plennary. Its a vigorous and expansionist nation, bordered by the remnants of the Despotate to their east and the Salrut to their west. They have an intense sense of nationalism, only rivaled by their loyalty to their plenns. Plenns are similar to a human clan, and are massively influential in the governance of Kalvectan planets.
Tekoruun Hus, a sworn agent of Plenn Hus, is pictured here. On his shoulder is the symbol of the plennary at large, while over his thigh is the symbol of Plenn Hus specifically. Plennguards like him are sent on many types of missions, and do so without hesitation or complaint. The style of war practiced varies from plenn to plenn, Plenn Xak prefers melee combat and aggression, while Plenn Hus prefers professionalism and flexibility. The others of the major 6, Naviiz, Konos, Worez and Kesch wage war through yet other means.
