I've seen that type of squirrel in parts of Westchester County and the Bronx too but never anywhere else.

I see black squirrels every day, and once in a while, the Red Tailed Black Squirrel.

i think you mean grey squirrels are the snuffalupagus... since the black squirrels outnumber them 20-1ish.

It's just the opposite here in Austin. I see white squirrels all over the place that no one else I know has ever seen.

I saw one Tuesday. Coulda been the heat, but it stayed in place on the ground as I walked by -- musta got within a metre of it, at least.
Cute thing. Even its nose is all black!

We have a white squirrel around town here. I only see him when I don't have my camera.

i've seen black squirrels in buffalo. i have also seen an albino [or white squirrel - never able to get too close to it].

just get pics of them - they are cool looking too.

It's OK Babs, first time I visisted the area and came home and described them no one believed me either.

I had one hanging out at my squirrel feeder for awhile down here in Tampa.

I have seen thousands of grey squirrels over the years in my backyard. A few years ago, red ones started showing up for a while, but they have pretty much vanished again.

I have also seen chipmunks, rabbits, foxes, deer, raccoons, turkeys, and ducks.

But never a black squirrel.

But then again, I don't live in Toronto, but the suburbs of Boston. Maybe they do exist up north. I'll take Babs word for it.

Those are ninja squirrels, they're actually gray but they're wearing costumes.

I've only been in Canada for two hours and I saw them. We're getting alot more red ones lately out here near hicago.

Oh yes, we have white deer out here too.

I'm sure they're just plastic bags and such Babs is seeing, and imagines they're black squirrels.
