Japanese rice cake must be very different than North American rice cake (specifically Quaker brand which I grew up with), which are basically just dry biscuits that taste like Styrofoam.

Botan(peony) mochi is a Japanese sweet made by wrapping mochi in sweet red bean paste. It is named “peony” because it looks like a peony flower👍.
