In Star Trek: The Animated Series, Pallas 14 was a star system, a binary star located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. The Pallas 14 binary consisted of two yellow dwarf stars and three planets in orbit, and was located near the edge of the galaxy. By the late 23rd century, the system was the Federation's most remote inhabited system. On one star chart, the system was shown proximate to the Time Planet and Planet Q. The binary system included just the planets Bezaride, Mantilles and Alondra. Although two star charts did not depict an asteroid belt in the system it was cited as having a "fair-sized" one. In 2269, the system was invaded by a huge cosmic cloud creature, which began to consume matter contained within the system, beginning with the planet Alondra. Thankfully, the crew of the USS Enterprise were able to communicate with the creature and persuade it to stop its approach to the inhabited planet, Mantilles. By the year 2289, Leonard McCoy's daughter Joanna McCoy would be living in the city of Ravent, on the planet Mantilles, herself likewise working at a city hospital as a doctor. Planets of the Pallas XIV System
Pallas XIV A: A Yellow Dwarf Star, it is a G-type Star in the form of the Binary Star System.
Pallas XIV B: A Yellow Dwarf Star, it is a G-type Star in the form of the Binary Star System.
Bezaride: A Mars-like Planet, closer to the Mantilles' star. It was class K with a thin atmosphere and was capable of being colonized. It could previously have supported intelligent indigenous life. In 2269, a massive cosmic cloud organism entered the system, but did not threaten Bezaride. During the encounter, Bezaride was seen on a star chart on the bridge viewscreen of the USS Enterprise.
Mantilles: A M-class Planet, it is a Federation planet located in the Pallas 14 system. The Federation starship USS Mantilles was named for this world. By the mid-23rd century, Mantilles was the most remotely inhabited colony in the Federation, and was located at the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy. In the late 2260s, Mantilles had a population of 82 million people and was governed by former Starfleet officer, Robert Wesley. Governor Wesley was their highest-ranking elected official. Mantilles had two natural satellites. In 2269, Mantilles was threatened with destruction by a cosmic cloud creature who wished to digest the planet. Governor Wesley's Starfleet training allowed him to maintain control of the population when they discovered their fates, and arranged for 5,000 children to be evacuated from the planet. Fortunately, the planet was saved by the crew of the USS Enterprise. Wesley was assigned to Mantilles due to concerns the Tholian Assembly had spies there. By 2282, Joanna McCoy had become head of the Organ Donation, Synthesis, and Transplant Department at Ravent General Hospital in the city of Ravent on Mantilles. In 2288, the USS Enterprise's mission to the Aquarius Formation brought the ship within live communications range of remote Mantilles. As a result, Joanna had been able to speak with her father Leonard McCoy several times. In the 24th century, Sam Bowers learned karate as a teenager while on Mantilles, and followed through with it at Starfleet Academy, earning a brown belt.

Alondra: A Bittersweet and Big Foot Feet crayon color Jupiter-like Gas Giant with No Moons. However, it is destroyed by Massive Cosmic Cloud Organism in the year 2269. In 2269, a massive cosmic cloud organism devoured the planet, then changed course toward the second planet in the system, Mantilles. The crew of the USS Enterprise watched as the cloud crept across the planet's surface like an amoeba, slowly enveloping it. Its mass was broken apart and slowly digested. When the starship soon faced an energy shortfall, Montgomery Scott beamed chunks of Alondra aboard to provide new matter as fuel for the warp engines.
