SPECIAL THANKS:
lucca
Lucca celebrated his birthday on March 2nd. To fully enjoy the day, we went to a local ceramics shop where you can paint your choice of figures. I was nervous to try painting, as I haven't done any physical art since I lost the rest of my eyesight in 2016, but Lucca showed me this darling figure and I just couldn't resist.
All the painting you see on this piece, with the exception of the eyes and beak, was done by me. I took a very hands-on approach to paint this cutie and, upon getting it back from the store after they had put it through the kiln, I believe it came out really well. No longer shall I let my lack of physical eyesight get in the way of me doing art!

The eggshell was quite tactile, so I used one hand to feel for the eggshell while I used the other to paint the shell itself and the adorable, little chick. :)
It's amazing what you can do when you have a point of reference. I used to really feel that painting would be a waste of time for me, but this chick has proven those thoughts to be wrong. I'm hopeful to do more physical art in the future.
