Bought an older Trail Camera a few months ago at some liquidation store for $55. I live nex to wild land and at times I've heard something outside my bedroom at night. Set up the camera and I have discovered one of the local Bobcats prowls thru my yard frequently in the middle of the night. Camera does black and white night images and color daylight images.

Central AZ highlands. I've seen some of the local bobcats in the daytime. Not that big and I've seen some varied tail lengths. Definitely bigger than the neighbor's housecat in the body. Went thru a months worth of images from the camera. Can't get the dang thing activated to send images via cell network. Have to pull the chip and pop it into a reader. Did look up tail length for bobcats, can be up to 8 inches. In the past I've walked up on a badger in my yard, seen a mountain lion walk by the side porch and a bear tore up my garbage can last fall.
I brought a new puppy home a dozen years ago. She slipped her leash on a walk a few days later and I never thought I'd see her again. I searched and called for hours and no sign of her. I put her evening meal out anyway and the next morning her bowl was empty. It hit freezing overnight so when I found the empty bowl I checked the trail cam. Sure enough, several photos of a little orange and cream spotty dog cleaning her dish. I found her in a pile of rocks at the back of the yard, shivering but otherwise okay.
I'd seen signs of them in the yard over the years. Odd sized cat poo in places, rear half of a Kangroo Rat on the porch - yes someone gave a rat's ass to me. Odd growls at night along with items being knocked over in the middle of the night. I've even seen a puma in the yard late at night. Mule deer in the front yard nibbling on some of the landscaping is common. Coyotes are nightly, can't miss their pack noise fest.
Yep, live right by wild land, you get interesting neighbors who come out mainly at night. Mountains and brush land behind me, brush land , golf course and creek in front of me. Lots of animals utilizing the food and water supply. Seen two mountain lions in the neighborhood and one outside of Sedona. Seen sign of them in while hiking in some areas along with bear sign. Been in Eastern AZ - border with New Mexico. Hannagan Meadow lodge - right in the middle of the Re Introduction area for Mexican Wolves. Howled to one of the packs and got a response from the porch of the cabin I'd rented for a few days.
