This week's External Influence is the Kitsune Spirit Guide. The Kitsune is a creature of Japanese folklore that has become wildly popular all over the world. It's origins are centuries old and come with a rich history of folklore and mythology. This supernatural being is a fox-like creature depicted with a number of tails up to a maximum of nine. Each additional tail signifying an increase in power. While considered a trickster, this was often mixed with a variety of tricks and pranks that would sometimes be beneficial. A guardian as much as a trickster. For this week, this can mean that the world will provide you many options to choose from in your current path. To view these with an intelligent eye where you can explore the pros and cons of each path before making your choice. There may be a bit of mischievousness afoot, but don't let your fears get in the way of productivity and joy. Get what you need done, but don't forget to let yourself do things in interesting ways that give you the mental stimuli that you need.

This week's Rune is Thurisaz. Depicted as a thorn, this rune is a symbol of protection, defense, destruction, and regeneration. It can be seen as either an active defense or used as an attack against enemies. It is depicted as a thorn from a plant, yet is connected with the element of fire and a symbol of the lightning and thunder attributed to Thor's hammer, Mjollnir. Use Thurisaz when you wish to protect yourself against those wishing you harm or ill will, but know that this symbol will also aid you in awakening your will and overcoming obstacles found in uncomfortable situations. Thurisaz will aid you this week in giving you a push of additional strength. This week, work on tapping into your sight to become aware of energies and when to think before acting. This rune also warns us to consider the dark within ones self and how to deal with it positively in order to avoid it gaining strength over us. Do not let your negative fester within. Thurisaz will aid you in breaking down barriers in order to make way for a new beginning.

In the Internal Influence, we see the spirit guide Elk. This week will be a time of abundance. Allow yourself to indulge in more plant foods and to eat foods that promote energy and stamina. This week will show you to move with a regal, but humble manner. Recognize the ability, strength, and intelligence within yourself. Remember, however, that ignorance is not bad. Only that remaining ignorant is detrimental. It is ok to constantly learn. Engage in your intended areas of study with dignity and an open mind. Consider taking time to meditate. Connect with the energies within your environment as well as within yourself. There may be a spirit or divinity trying to communicate with you and meditation may allow you to recognize what signs are may be missing. Elk are also symbols of love. There may be an increase in romance, friendship, or family ties coming up for you this week. Show affection and care for those you find important. When the Elk spirit guide shows up, this is often a reminder to us to engage in recognizing and increasing our personal talents, skills, and spiritualism. Even if your environment may require you to be calm or causes you to feel like you need to hide what makes you unique, remember that you can always tap into your inner strength when you need it. Have respect for others and yourself. Hold dignity and wisdom with the importance they deserve as you work to increase your stamina.
