Edit: Client asked for me to add some stars so that now makes 8 versions lol :)

A commission I did for someone on Etsy! I ended up going WAY overboard on this and made seven different versions lol. This is the one the client liked the most. :)

This character is a light blue with neon/UV reactive hair and goo. Their eyes are only visible under ultra-violet light, so I wanted to push that effect to its limit. The client also wanted a background that was inspired by an old tourist trap restaurant called Mars 2112, which heavily features dark red lighting with bright blue/UV accents.
So I initially colored and shaded the character as if they were in that kind of lighting and it completely washed out the blue! While it was a more "realistic" approach to the colors, it was difficult to tell what the character actually looked like. I took it upon myself to make a second version with more neutral lighting.
But, wait, the client said that this was inspired by "an old tourist trap." Better overlay some texture to both versions! And I might as well add chromatic aberration while I'm at it, for both versions, of course!
In the end, the client picked the one they liked best and asked for a small tweak to the placement of the pupils, making this final iteration version 7. :P

ADHD is a hell of a drug, kids. :P
