This guy has been done so dirty by the adaptations. He is included in not one, not one!! Not even the graphic novel! It's particularly surprising he's not present in the graphic novel, which otherwise includes every character from the book. I wonder why of all characters he was cut, I find it so odd to include them all bar him. What's one extra bunny when you're drawing all the others y'know?

While he's a fairly minor character, I'd argue he has more of a personality than Hawkbit who has made it into almost every adaptation. I guess they perhaps thought he was too similar to other characters, like Bluebell since they both joke around.

I just wanted to portray him as a funny looking guy really, always ready with a witty comment. He tells a story to the warren in the sequel novel "Tales from Watership Down", it's a complete nonsensical story just to make them laugh which I thought was cute.
