The life of an artist can be pretty rough irt to finances, and some of my fondest memories include purchases of my older adopts.
There's nothing quite like going to one of my platforms and discovering a bid on an adopt that I had resigned myself to not selling. I look at the adopt and I'm suddenly flooded with the fondness that I first had for it, and I'm thrilled that someone else looked at it and saw the appeal I did, enough to pay for it.
It feels like catharsis. I feel revalidated in my creativity. I'm so, so happy that the hours that I put into that creation paid off. When every dollar counts, it's like a fresh rain after a drought. But it's more than the money. It's the feeling that your artistic vision was seen and appreciated.
I remember several of them offhand: more recently, my Walrein x Arcanine, and
Jolteon x Alolan Raichu. When I go through my closed adoptables I can immediately pick out more; my Sawsbuck x Litwick, Espeon x Ninetales, Alolan Ninetales x Glaceon and Rapidash x The Last Unicorn.
One of my absolute fondest memories was of my Skitty x Growlithe. I was so proud of the Festive Ribbon Alt, and devastated when it didn't get a single bid. Weeks later, someone liked it enough to autobuy it. I was absolutely over the moon. Over a year later it still brings me so much joy and hope.
That's why I try to return the favor now and then. I have to be extremely selective because of my strict budget, but when I do, I feel it's worth the money and more for the joy I'm sure it brings to the artist.
all that being said, a sincere thank you to every one of my buyers ♥
