My X/Twitter account is compromised!
If you ever receive a DM from me or others on Twitter/X with the message shown in the image, you are dealing with a scammer who is trying to steal your account in exchange for money. Please be careful and don’t let them take your account.
For now, I will be creating a temporary X account. If I can’t recover my original account, I’ll make an official announcement about the new one here and on Bluesky. In the meantime, please just follow me on Bluesky.

its a old Copy paste scam, its been around since summer last year, its sadly effective to those that are not aware, this scam can be found on Steam, Discord, Twitter, Facebook, telegram skype, and zoom.

I voted Kamala and I have twitter because I have a bunch of my followers on Twitter. Some of them follow me on Bluesky but I'm still waiting for a bunch more. I'm 1 follower away from 100 on Bluesky versus the 817 just to give a fair idea how many people follow me on both platforms.
The question is: How many of those 817 are either dead or inertia follows? BlueSky is young enough that numbers there are going to be pretty much purely still actively paying attention to you, as opposed to "I followed them years ago and haven't bothered unfollowing," or "I don't even use that account any more."
Truth be told though, a lot of peeps don't like making social accounts every time something happens, they eventually just stick with what they have. Even if they moved to bluesky, not that many would even follow. So its kind a understandable why many would make bluesky as their new/sub account while keeping their twitter as their main. Some even said "I would have to rebuild everything from the ground up again." That's another reason why many just don't want to leave.
You should not attempt to go back to that horrible place hell if you are a furry , lgbtq a minority or just anyone with human decency are no longer welcome and safe there as it now a far right and extremist dangerous harmful echo chamber alongside the owner who actively encourage horrible people, while also ignoring the zoophiles and pedophiles being active there.
ah yeah, I received this scam a few months ago. I obviously didn't fell for it
Be weary, there is a very similar scam going around on Discord. Never accept a random link by friends with a story of "sorry, I reposted you by accident" or, "can you use this link and help a friend with X"
Always research that info on your own before accepting any links, if not don't accept them, specially if the contact says there is a timer or sense of urgency

Yeah... i felt for that shit some weeeks ago, thanks to the circumstances...
But got my account back two weeks later, thanks to the real X-Support.
How it works?
The Scammer writes you on a already kidnapped account and tells you, that he got scammed and "accidently" asked his followers to mass-report you, which could leading to a IP-ban of your accs.
He tells you then to make contact with the "X-Support", which he "contacted" in order to clear that
circumstance, but it would be better if you as person clarifiy this.
The "Support" then asks a lot of questions then (quiet profesional, which caught me offguard)
and asks you then to change your email-adress to a certain emailadress (FakeSupportAdress) for a overhaul scanning.
And the very moment, you do exactly this, your account is gone and he demands a 250$ fee for the scanning thing, which was the moment in hit my like a thunderstruck...

People forget the golden rule "Never provide any info even to the officials like the bank or the devs. Codes are for your eyes only, no one elses." In discord the urls are not the real ones, if you hover over the url without clicking it, it should then show you the actual real path that they are hiding.
A classic, also seen on Discord - trying to get Steam accounts. Best advice in any situation like this, even if it's real: the company will come to you. If they don't, they didn't care enough.
It's sad to see scammer scum succeed with such tactics, even though they offer hints about it being bs themselves: problem with account a, but accidentally reported account b (their problem, not yours). Asked friends to report the wrong account, too (who cares, "dear X, this account allegedly did something to Y, please do something. I'm not the/a victim or a witness offering own proof, tho. that's not a problem, right?").
Hope you get your account back. Also hope scammer falls down the stairs.
