Silence reigns over the marshy area, barely disturbed by the lapping of water against the boots of advancing soldiers. Moisture sticks to the skin, mingling with the smell of soaked earth and rotting vegetation. Deuce leads the way, his sharp eyes scanning the horizon through the light fog that masks their advance. His equipment blends perfectly into this hostile environment, offering a blend of efficiency and discretion.
His rifle, held securely in his hands, is ready for use at the slightest sign of danger. The mission is simple: infiltrate, extract, exfiltrate. An allied team had been ambushed earlier in the night, and leaving them behind was out of the question.
Behind him, his team-mates methodically advance, their presence almost ghostly through the mist. Every step is calculated, every breath controlled. The murky water masks the ground, making every move potentially risky. But Deuce is an elite soldier, and this kind of environment is part of his daily routine.
A distant sound, a whisper over the radio waves. The team is approaching the insertion point. The next few minutes will be decisive.
