A problem that I frequently have to address when writing is the temptation to keep on writing past the punchline. It would work well in an animated medium or skit where you can have a long series of punchlines without beginning to crowd things, but there's only so much that can be fitted into a single comic page, so after a while you have to decide if it's worth making a whole extra page. In a case like this, with a visual punchline, you also can't really add much more in the way of panels without also ruining the flow.
