Qwergals are large herbivorous invertebrates capable of flight that are mostly native to the jungles of Ventana. They resemble flying slugs with some whale-like qualities, and are known for their calm demeanour and gentle natures. They can usually be found grazing in the canopies of trees either alone or in small groups.

Unlike most other airborne species, Qwergals do not rely on wings in the classical sense to stay airborne. Instead, they possess flight membranes that provide uplift. These can be retracted to a degree, and function through Iserial Energy. These membranes even function in areas with comparatively low ambient Iserial Energy. However, this means of flight is very slow. On the upside, Qwergals can stay airborne practically indefinitely.

Due to their placid nature, Qwergals have been tamed and used as bests of labor since ancient times. Since akin to slugs, they rely on a foul-tasting layer of slime to deter predators, special gear is required to ride one without getting into contact with the slime. However, despite the foul taste, Qwergal slime has been known for its healing properties, and as such is occasionally used as an ointment if Iserialogy is not an option.
