So, here is a bonus image for the art challenge I did 2 weeks ago, mostly for my own amusement.
It's nice to work on something without a deadline once again although I am a bit disappointed with the end result. Don't get me wrong; I think it's better than the ones I did with a time limit, but I do not think it's better enough to justify the extra time spent on it...
I think one of the reasons I am not very happy with it is because I changed a lot of the elements of the picture without changing the layout and just decided to finish it when I got tired of working on it...
I would like to think I was better at prioritizing when I had a deadline and I was hoping to learn from it going forward.
Instead I seem to have spent a week relearning how to finish projects and less than a week forgetting all of the lessons I learned...
Oh, well. At least I'm uploading stuff again.^^

Really like how you give your girls in space that little blue aura outline around them. Makes me think of Dragonball Z or something. Also like the darkness around the tummy internal. And the little heart is cute ^^
I guess a deadline is double-edged sword. Forces you to bring out your best, yet having only so much time means you may not be able to unleash it all. Maybe just one of those things you need to figure out the sweet spot with balancing in, if that makes sense.

Well, it's not always blue. Sometimes it's cyan or purple.^^
But yes, when I draw a character in space I usually try to give them an outline to help them stand out from the background. While having a black background would probably be more realistic I also find it's less intersting to look out so I try to give it a bit of colour (I usually go for a dark blue that gets darker toward to top and bottom of the image to draw the eyes toward the centre).
And finishing projects is something I often have to practice. Sometimes when I have a lot of motivation it's easier to do but sometimes I think I might need to pressure from a deadline...
